Dear fellow teachers, First, I like to thank all members that showed concern, involvement, and passion during our recent election of Officers and Executive Board members. Thanks to everyone that was on the ballot and each write in member. Congratulations as well to each member that was voted to serve the next two years. Again Ed Dumas and his ballot team did a great job! Second, Please be aware that I have every verbal indication that our Contract will be signed at the School Committee’s Thursday June 7, 2007 meeting. The delay has been written miscommunications of electronic transfers of both our one year retroactive Contract and our three year upcoming Contract packages. Your Negotiation Team has signed our initialed documents approximately six weeks ago. I know this has been a long process and has worn patience a little thin for each member. Due to this process taking so much time it will be difficult to get a printed final contract document to each member prior to June 13. We will post each Contract on the Web Site for you to examine as soon as possible, and work on the printed document as well. Finally, congratulations to ALL retirees, you have shaped Greater Lowell Tech’s great reputation within the district and beyond. Enjoy your retirement season and we will see you at the retirement party at Lenzi’s Mill House on Thursday, June 12th. Have a great vacation break!!!!!! Thank you for your continued support, |

Know Your Rights: Weingarten rights guarantee an employee the right to union representation during an interview by the employer. If the interview could in any way lead to the employee being disciplined or terminated, or affect his or her working conditions, he or she should respectfully request that a union representative or officer be present at the meeting.
